Reminder...You must see 2 live theatre performances per semester...Here is the format for writing a review. Click here!

  • Extra credit:  You can get extra credit for writing up to 2 more reviews per semester (20 pts), attending a theater workshop and writing an essay about the experience with a reflection about the workshop up to 3(10 pts) or you may submit a website with a review and justification as to why you think it should be added to the mvhsdrama website as a resource up to 4 (5pts).

  • Don't forget to see 2 shows this semester and write up a review.....100 pts each!!!!   

  • Start writing you journal now!!!

  • Full length play summary due - Feb 24.  Drama 3- American playwrights  Drama 4 World theater playwrights

  • Pollution Solution - ushers needed for evening shows only--Thurs, Feb 9 and Fri, Feb 10 - sign up in class

  • How is that Individual Project Coming Along? 

  • Scene study - work with your scene partner on your new scene. Character mask due on Monday, February 13.  The outside of the mask includes the attributes that others see your character to be, the inside of the mask are the attributes that your character really is.  The mask can be made from a sheet of paper cut out like a mask to a 3-D mask painted and collaged.  Include pictures and words on the mask. 

  • Scenes should be memorized by Feb 21.

  • Monday - Homework - Read and take notes on Zeami - "Teachings on style and flower" pgs 209-216  Due on Tuesday, Feb 7! This will be on the unit test on Japanese Theater.
  • Bunraku puppetry - Read handout on the life of a Bunraku artist and pgs161-162 Doll Theater in Anthology- Due Wednesday, Feb 8
  • Performing Love Suicides with puppets in class on Tuesday, Feb 7.  - Write reflections on performing in your journal
  • Kabuki Theater - Read pgs 163 - 168 in Anthology Due Thursday, Feb 9
  • Kabuki make-up day - Friday, Feb 10

Meet the Critic assignment is due every other Monday...here is the format!  Next one due IN FEBRUARY

  • POLLUTION SOLUTION CREW  Costumes (Caitlyn and Andrea)-  (Anna and Joceylin)- create a prop list from the script. Publicity (Parker and Megan)- Create a storyboard for a trailer to advertize the show and a written announcement that can be used for the Diablo Dispatch and the local newspapers.

  • Wednesday, Feb 8 - Be in the drama room at 8am for make-up.  There are two shows this morning at 9 and 11.

  • Thursday, Feb 9 - Be in the drama room at 8am for make-up, there is one show in the morning at 9am and one at night...you must be here for make-up at 5:30 for the 7 pm show.

  • Friday, Feb 10 Be in the drama room at 8am for make-up, there is one show in the morning at 9am and one at night...you must be here for make-up at 5:30 for the 7 pm show.
