How do I earn my Varsity Letter in Drama?
To earn a Varsity Letter in Drama, the following requirements must be met:
1. Drama 3, 4, or Theater Arts/HL for two semesters.
2. Performing, Stage Management, or Assistant Directing in one full-length fall production or one musical production.
3. Participation in 2 of the following:
a. One Act Play
b. ComedySportz Team
c. Children's Play
d. Coffehouse Production
e. Cappies Critic
4. Participation (not just attending) in 3 competitions or festivals:
a. SCETA Festival (Southern California Educational Theater Association)
b. Fullerton College Festival
c. RoleAbout Festival
d.Chapman University Shakespeare Festival
e California State University of Long Beach Festival
f Cal State Pomona Festival
g DTASC (Drama Teachers Association of Southern California) Shakespeare Festival
6. Production Crew Positions (must complete 2)
a. Scenic Crew (construction, paint, or run crew)
b. Lighting Crew (followspot or board operator)
c. Sound Design or Crew
d. Costume Crew
e. Make-up Crew
f. House Management or Ushering
g. Publicity Crew
h. Program Production
7. Fundraisers for the Drama Program
a. Club Faire
b. Gold Cards (not for personal account)
c Program Ad Sales (not for personal account)
d. Other
8. Service to the Drama Department (must complete 2)
a. Open House
b. Parent Night
c. Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat
d. Work with grade school or junior high drama students
e. Usher for Productions
9. Maintain a B or higher grade in drama classes.
10. Maintain an S or O in citizenship.
11. Be an
active member
of Drama Club OR International Thespians OR ComedySportz.
