This is an individual category. Like a real audition, participants will read with a reader. A reader is a person in the room that will read the opposite lines in the scene but does not get up to act with the actor auditioning. Participants will have at least 5 minutes to prepare sides that will be given to them at the session. Actors should NOT use this time to memorize lines. Instead, the actor should concentrate on making bold yet appropriate character choices, taking risks, and listening. Participants should be prepared to take direction from the director in the room. Scenes may be taken from the following plays: Our Town, Hedda Gabler, The Crucible, and/or TBA |
