rotation of the earth makes time a s measure by the position of
the sun go faster - approximately twice as fast if you're in a
wide-bodied jet. The "night" passes quickly, and you're in
Greece! Transfer to your centrally-located Athens hotel in the
company of your PASSPORTS courier. Day at
leisure.
Day 3, Athens Sightseeing - A
local guide joins you this morning for a climb of the Acropolis.
See the ageless Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, Mars Hill,
and the ancient marketplace, Agora. See modern Athens too,
including the Greek Parliament and the lively Plaka
district. Afternoon at leisure. Ride the steep funicular railway
up Mt. Lycabettus for a fabulous view of the city. The
irresistible music of the bousouki colors tonight's
optional Greek folklore show at Plaka area
taverna!
Day 4, Delphi Excursion - Your
destination today is the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, where,
according to legend, a priestess once communicated with mortals on
the topic of the future. Do you hear an oracle? See the Stadium,
still ringing with the poetry of Aeschylus and Sophocles. A local
guide accompanies the group.
Day 5, Cape Sounion - Morning
free. Try the thrilling Archaeological Museum. A coastal drive
this afternoon to the southernmost tip of Attica, where the Temple
of Poseidon towers high above the sea at Cape Sounion. A
countryside evening meal is included.
Day 6, Saronic Gulf Island Cruise

Day 7, Peloponnesus Field Trip -
Begin with a look at ancient Corinth, then see Mycenae, the oldest
place on the European continent, and the tomb of Agamemnon. See
the open-air theatre of Epidaurus. This place is almost 2,500
years old, but has weathered the ages well. Hear it as never
before. See the colossal Corinth Canal first conceived by the
Roman Emperor Nero.
Day 8, Sound & Light - Day
free for shopping and other personal activities. A Sound &
Light performance on the Pnyx Hill is included tonight, featuring
a floodlit Acropolis, a starry sky, and tales thousands of years
old.

Western Civilization that glides by under the right wing of your
jet airplane, as you head for home. Arrival U.S. same
day.
