The International Thespian Society is an honor
society dedicated to promoting excellence in high school theatre. Students earn
membership in ITS by completing 100 hours of service in their high school theatre,
including work both onstage and backstage. Students who complete 600 hours of
work in theatre are eligible to become an honor thespian.
The International Thespian Society includes
schools around the world who have pledged themselves to "act well their
parts, therein all the honor lies." ITS members are offered many
advantages, including scholarship opportunities and participation in the annual
California State Thespian Festival. Additionally, students may attend, and are
often invited to perform at, the International Thespian Festival, where over
3000 high school students meet each summer to improve their talents and perform
for their peers.
For more information about ITS eligibility and
membership, see Mrs. Harris or a Drama Council officer. New members will be
inducted into troupe 3060 at the 2005 Drama Banquet.
