The unit of British currency is the Great Britain Pound (GBP) sterling. One pound (£) is sub-divided into 100 Pence. One penny is the lowest unit available.
There are 100 pennies to £1
There are 8 different coins: 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20, 50p, £1, £2
There are 5 different notes: £5, £10, £20, £50, £100
There are many different types of bank notes in the UK, which are designed and printed by different banks, and hence look slightly different - they are all exactly the same currency - the Great Britain Pound - the only real difference is the design of the note. The publishing banks are:

SATURDAY 3/26/2005 

 

Morning arrival at London’s Gatwick airport.

A GOIN’ HOLLYWOOD TOURS representative will meet you. Luggage will be loaded on to a private coach for transfer to Stratford-Upon -Avon.

 

10:00 AM -    ARRIVE in STRATFORD-UPON-AVON. Walk to TRINITY CHURCH where Shakespeare and his family are buried.

11:30 PM -      LUNCH on your own.

12:30 AM -      Open Air BUS TOUR of Stratford Upon Avon and the surrounding Shakespeare properties. TOUR Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage.

3:30 PM -        Check into local Bed and Breakfast for one nights stay. Time to rest before evening activities.

6:00 PM -        DINNER arrangements made for group at one of Stratford’s most popular restaurants, “Marlowes”

PM -                THEATRE TICKETS for the world famous Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of “Thomas More” at the Swan Theater

11:00 PM -      RETURN to B&B.

8:00 AM -        BREAKFAST arrangements for the group.

9:00 AM -        Enjoy free time to stroll around Stratford and do some shopping or attend Easter services at one of the local churches. LUNCH on your own.

11:30 AM -    LEAVE for WARWICK CASTLE one of England’s oldest and best-preserved castles and the site of a new Madame Tussaud exhibit.

4:00 PM -        LEAVE for LONDON. 

7:00 PM -        HOTEL CHECK IN - ORIENTATION SESSION.

7:30 AM -        BREAKFAST arrangements for the group.

8:30 AM -        WALKING TOUR of London. Sites will include Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Changing of the Guard and Buckingham Palace among others.

11:30 AM -      Take a ride on London’s newest attraction – THE LONDON EYE. Built for the millennium, the Eye is being called London’s Eiffel Tower. The giant wheel will give you a bird’s eye view of one of Europe’s most famous cities.

12:30 PM -      Time for some shopping and LUNCH on your own..

1:15 PM -        LEAVE for a TOUR of the infamous TOWER OF LONDON and the crown jewels.

5:30 PM -        DINNER arrangements made for group at London's "Imperial China" restaurant.

7:30 PM -        THEATRE TICKETS for the exciting new London production of “Mary Poppins”

7:30 AM -        DEPART for a day tour starting with mysterious Stonehenge and the beautiful cathedral in Salisbury, one of England's oldest cities and a great place to get in some shopping. Trip will include all transportation, tours and entrance fees. LUNCH ON YOUR OWN.

10:00 AM -      ARRIVE at Stonehenge.

11:00 AM -      LEAVE for Salisbury.

11:30 AM -      TOUR Salisbury Cathedral and then enjoy free time for shopping, lunch and a chance to walk around the charming town of Salisbury.

2:30 PM -        RETURN to London.

5:30 PM -        Dinner on your own in London.

2:00 PM -        ARRIVE for the TOUR AND WORKSHOP of the historic GLOBE THEATRE followed by time to explore the Globe Theatre exhibition.

5:30 PM -        DINNER arrangements made for group at "Italian Graffiti".

8:30 AM -        LEAVE for a TOUR of the spectacular WINDSOR CASTLE the largest inhabited castle in the world and one of the three official residences of The Queen.

12:00 PM -      LUNCH on your own

1:00 PM -        RETURN to London

2:30 PM -        Choose from one of the following optional activities and enjoy some free time to explore a part of London that most interests you. (Note: admissions for the British Museum and London Dungeons are not included).

                        Option 1: The British Museum. One of the great museums of the world offers a wide selection of exhibition choices.

                        Option 2: Time to shop at Harrods, London’s landmark department store.

             Option 3: Explore the historic underground London dungeons and walk some of the catacombs that lie beneath the city.

5:00 PM -        RETURN to Hotel

5:45 PM -        Farewell DINNER arrangements made for the group at "Bumbles Restaurant".

7:30 PM -        THEATRE TICKETS for your final London show “Billy Elliot” with music by Elton John.

8:00 AM -        BREAKFAST arrangements for the group.

9:00 AM -        DEPART for London’s Gatwick airport and your return trip to Los Angeles.
