This list is by no means extensive. In fact, it could use many more sites, so
if you find some that you would like to share, send the links to the webmaster
and she will add them to the site. New as of 6/04 – Links for creating sound effects at the

Scripts From the Golden Age of Radio - Radio Scripts are listed by the first
noun in the title. This site as the beginnings of many plays. The full plays can be bought at the site. Teachers on
Wheels Radio Plays Teachers On Wheels received funding from the National
Literacy Secretariat HRDC to transcribe and produce a series of
eight dramatized radio plays. The plays were originally broadcast on CBC
radio as part of a Newfoundland and Labrador School Broadcasts program. These transcripts are on their site. The Mercury Theatre on the Air The finest radio drama of the 1930’s was The Mercury Theatre on the Air, a show featuring the acclaimed New York drama company founded by Orson Welles and John Houseman. In its brief run, it featured an impressive array of talents, including Agnes Moorehead, Bernard Herrmann, and George Coulouris. The show is famous for its notorious War of the Worlds broadcast, but the other shows in the series are relatively unknown. This site has many of the surviving shows, and will eventually have all of them. Bert Coules - new 3/05 Mr. Coules is a professional dramatist in the UK who specialises in audio and radio drama. He was the head writer on the BBC's unique project that set out to dramatise the entire canon of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories; his small book on the subject, 221BBC, contains a lot of behind-the-scenes information on how the series was written and made. Other works include adapted versions of: "Flowers for Algernon", "Mutiny on the Bounty", "The Guns of Navarone", "The Women in His Life", plus other adaptations and original works. The Morning
Scoop is a weekly, seven minute live-to-air radio satire airing on CBC's Metro
Morning. Once a week CBC listeners will eavesdrop as a group of dog owners
converge - with canines in tow - on Toronto's (imaginary) Garrison Creek
Park, where they will discuss the issues of the day, the state of the world,
and the latest in the care and treatment of their dogs. He has written professionally ever since
in a variety of genres, including stage plays, radio dramas, short fiction,
essays and children's television. He is particularly drawn to
character-driven stories, narratives fuelled by individuals struggling to
navigate their way through a world rarely of their own making. Since the first Steve Walker radio play
was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1988, I have written 39 more. The plays wowed
many, outraged some, and won awards, including two Giles Cooper Awards for
Best Radio Play. The plays have been produced all over the world. On this
page you will find a retrospective of the plays, plus complete texts.
Eventually the texts of all my radio plays will be available here, making it
the largest site on the Web devoted to radio drama. A tutorial designed to educate and inspire
those interested in the craft of film sound effects. If you scroll down this page a bit, you’ll
find instructions for making classic sound effects. “Theory, Practice, and ‘How To’ Guide” A great history of the evolution of sound
effects. An introduction on how to assemble radio
sound effects for audio theatrical productions. |
